Who these terms are with

These terms are an agreement between you and Lakshay Bansal, an individual operating from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, India, who publishes Hushglass and the hushglass.com website. Installing or using the software means you accept them. If you do not, do not install it.

What Hushglass does

Hushglass protects whole application windows that you select from supported modern Windows screen capture. You keep seeing and using the real window; a viewer watching a screen share, a recording or a supported screenshot sees an opaque privacy screen where it was. It works while the protected window is open and visible on your own machine, and stops when you close the app.

What Hushglass cannot do

These are platform limits, not bugs, and none of them can be fixed by us. Read them before you buy — they are the reason the refund policy is written the way it is.

1. Share your entire screen, not the protected window

   Protection works when you share a whole screen. If you share the protected window itself as a single window, its real contents are visible, because a single-window share reads only that window and Windows lets an application exclude only its own windows from capture. Sharing a different single window is safe.

2. Live thumbnails show real content

   Task View, Alt-Tab and taskbar hover previews are drawn by Windows itself, outside the protected area, and show what is really in the window. Stay out of them while you are presenting.

3. Notification pop-ups are not covered

   A notification from a protected application is its own separate window and is captured normally. Switch on Do Not Disturb before you present.

4. Hardware and legacy capture can still see the screen

   An HDMI capture card, a camera pointed at your monitor, and some very old capture methods read the display in ways no software running on Windows can prevent.

5. Whole windows only

   Hushglass protects a window. It cannot protect part of one.

6. Windows 10 version 2004 or later is required

   The Windows feature Hushglass depends on does not exist on earlier versions, and the app cannot work there.

Beyond that list, capture is a moving target. We test named applications and capture paths and publish only what we have actually verified. An application we have not tested is not a promise, in either direction.

Your license

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Hushglass, at work or at home, for as long as these terms are kept.

• Free protects 1 protected window at a time. It does not expire, does not require an account, and is not a trial that stops working.
• Pro removes the window limit and protects an application's pop-up windows automatically. It is sold at $19 per year or $39 once, the same price everywhere in the world.
• A Pro key activates on 2 computers. That is meant to cover a desktop and a laptop that you use — not a team. If you replace a machine, write to us and we will move the activation.
• "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the product, not a promise that a person or a company lives forever. It carries no renewal and no expiry, and includes updates to Hushglass for Windows for as long as it is published.

What you may not do

• Share, publish, resell or sublicense your license key, or use one key across more machines than it allows.
• Resell, rent or redistribute the software itself, or bundle it into another product.
• Remove or alter the privacy screen's markings, or present the software as your own.
• Work around the licensing, or attempt to decompile or reverse engineer the software — except to the exact extent that law gives you that right regardless of this clause.
• Use Hushglass to conceal activity you are legally required to disclose, or to break a rule you have agreed to with somebody else. What you hide from a recording is your responsibility, not ours.

Buying, prices and tax

Dodo Payments is the merchant of record for every purchase. They are the seller on the transaction, they handle payment and any applicable tax, and their buyer terms apply to the payment itself alongside these. Prices are shown in USD and are flat worldwide; tax may be added at checkout depending on where you are. Your license key is emailed to you on purchase, and is also available any time in Dodo's customer portal.

The yearly plan

The $19 yearly plan renews automatically until you cancel it. You cancel it yourself in Dodo's customer portal, choosing either to cancel at the next billing date — which keeps Pro until the period you have paid for ends — or to cancel immediately. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not by itself refund the last one — see the refund policy for when it does.

Updates and changes to the product

Hushglass checks once a day whether a newer version exists and tells you if one does. It never downloads or installs anything by itself. We may change, add or remove features as Windows and capture behaviour change. If a change removes something you paid for, we will say so plainly in the release notes rather than quietly.

Ending the license

You can stop using Hushglass at any time by uninstalling it. We may revoke a license key that has been shared publicly or obtained fraudulently, and a key that is charged back or refunded is revoked automatically — a revoked key returns the app to Free on the next license check. We will not revoke a key without telling you why at the email address you bought with.

What we do and do not promise

Hushglass is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will protect against every capture method, every application, or a method that does not exist yet, and the limits above are part of this statement rather than an exception to it. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of defects. Screen capture on Windows changes, and a technique we have verified can stop working after an update to Windows or to somebody else's application.

Treat Hushglass as one careful habit among several, not as a guarantee. If a disclosure would be seriously damaging, do not rely on any single tool to prevent it.

Nothing here removes a right the law gives you and does not allow us to exclude, including any statutory consumer guarantee.

Liability

Where the law permits us to limit it, our total liability arising from Hushglass or these terms is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost business or lost data. Where the law does not permit that limit, it does not apply.

Support

Support is by email at hello@hushglass.com. There is no guaranteed response time; in practice a person reads every message. Hushglass has no accounts, so include your license key or the email you bought with when the question is about Pro.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh have jurisdiction, without removing any right you have to bring a claim where you live if the law where you live gives you that right.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date below is the version you are reading, and a material change will be noted in the release notes rather than applied silently. Continuing to use Hushglass after a change means accepting the updated terms.
