Refunds

Refund policy

Free is a complete working product, not a trial. That is why this page can be short and specific instead of vague.

Why there is no blanket window

Most software sells a refund window because the buyer cannot know whether the product works until they have paid. That is not true here. Free is not a trial, a demo or a crippled preview — it is the finished product protecting 1 protected window, using exactly the same protection as Pro against exactly the capture path you are worried about. Run it in your own call or recording, on your own machine, with your own software, and you will know before you spend anything.

What Pro adds is scale and automation: as many protected windows as you like, and an application's pop-up windows protected on their own. So a refund here is for a real failure or a real mistake, and this page names both.

We try to fix it first

Most problems have a cause, and some of them are ours. So when you write to us, the first thing we do is look — reproduce what you saw, work out whether it is a setting, a limit or a defect, and fix it if it can be fixed. Plenty of what arrives as a refund request leaves as a bug report with a patch at the end of it.

A refund is what happens when that does not work. You are not choosing between being helped and being refunded: asking for one gets you the other first.

We refund when

In none of those cases do you have to argue the case. Tell us what happened, we will take your word for it, and if there is a fix we will offer that first.

We do not refund when

How long you have

Ask within 14 days of the charge. If you have reported a problem to us inside that window and we are still working on it, we get up to two more weeks to fix it — thirty days from the charge in total — and if we cannot, we refund you rather than ask for more time.

What happens to your license

A refunded key is revoked. At its next license check the app returns to Free and protects 1 protected window again. Windows you are protecting at that moment are not dropped out from under you; the limit applies to the next window you protect. This is not a penalty — it is simply that a refunded purchase is an undone purchase.

The yearly plan

You cancel it yourself, in Dodo's customer portal: enter the email you bought with and they send you a way in. The portal offers two choices and the difference matters — cancel at the next billing date keeps Pro running until the period you already paid for runs out, and cancel now ends it immediately. Pick the first unless you want Pro to stop today.

We do not refund part of a year you have used. If a renewal caught you out — you meant to cancel and never got to it — write to us within the window above and we will refund that renewal. We have no way of checking whether you used Pro in the meantime, and we are not going to pretend otherwise: we take your word for it.

How to ask

Email hello@hushglass.com from the address you bought with, and include your license key and a sentence about what went wrong. Hushglass has no accounts, so those two things are what let us find your order. Expect a reply from a person, not a form.

Chargebacks

If you ask your bank instead of asking us, the outcome is the same for your license — it is revoked — but it costs both of us more and it takes far longer for you. Email us first. If we get it wrong, the bank is still there. Dodo's buyer terms also ask you to contact them before raising a chargeback.

Two things this page cannot override

Timing

Once a refund is approved, Dodo issues it to the original payment method. Dodo states that the money typically reaches you within three to five business days, though how long it actually takes is up to your bank or card issuer.
